Beech Tree Eco Event

On Thursday, Clifton High welcomed an Eco-Schools assessor to the School to provide feedback about what the School is doing well and what Clifton High can do to further our commitment to eco issues moving forward.

Pupils held a Beech Tree Party Eco Event as our copper beech tree is 180 years old this year and pupils from across the School made pledges about how they would cut their paper usage or protect trees in their local areas. Pupils in the Junior School had their recycled art work suspended in the beech tree at lunch time and there was also a film about the beech tree shown outside, with pupils cycling a bike to provide the power to run the computer and projector.

The assessor was impressed with all of the pupils’ enthusiasm and knowledge throughout the day and we look forward to receiving feedback and our new Eco-Schools Green Flag in the New Year!
