Clifton High School attended the Festival of Nature at Bristol Harbourside this weekend, supported by the solar power company, Sunlight Future.
The minibus exhibit covered the topics: ‘Biodiversity: The Power of Nature’ and a ‘Magic or Mainstream’ solar power exhibition which powered a caravan, cinema and Scalextric set!
The warm weather attracted 600 people per day throughout the event, many of whom stopped to learn about the power of solar panels and the importance of biodiversity in a healthy ecosystem. A number of wildlife artefacts were on display to prompt questions and the stand incorporated a section about the effect the human race has on biodiversity.
Visitors also had the opportunity to join the Bristol Schools Nature Reserve Club, an initiative sponsored by Clifton High School and run by The Environmental Education Project to encourage the creation of miniature nature reserves in gardens and schools.
