At the end of the Autumn Term we hold our annual Carol Service in Clifton Cathedral. A poignant occasion, this candlelit service is based on the traditional King’s College, Cambridge Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. It is a fitting end to our term and marks the beginning of our Christmas celebrations.
Pupils, parents, staff and the broader Clifton High School community come together, along with VIPs and dignitaries, to enjoy this special evening. In the beautiful surroundings of Clifton Cathedral, our children and young people play a central role in this service. Some are given the opportunity to recite poetry or deliver Bible readings, while others may sing in one or more of the School’s many choirs or play music. The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a very poignant service and is when the School comes together to mark the end of the Autumn Term.
