Following on from Book Week and World Book Day, the School has been busy this term with its Clifton High Reads incentive and there have been lots of literary related events and activities.
The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop held a very popular Book Fair at the School and this enabled the children to browse, choose and buy an array of publications. All of the money that was raised from the purchases will be used to buy more resourceful books for the Clifton High libraries.
Nursery Pre-School children through to Year 10 pupils have also enjoyed a number of author visits; these have included story-telling from Mike Brownlow, writing tips and exerts from Dave Shelton, and an eye-opening look into the world of thriller novels with Jon Robinson. There was also a special visit from Kate Donnelly who performed interactive musical read-alongs with our youngest children.
Thank you to all the authors and guests who have visited and are supporting Clifton High Reads and also to the pupils for their tremendous enthusiasm and interest in the project.
