Personal, social and emotional

23rd May 2013
At Clifton High we consider successful personal, social and emotional development to be very important for young children in all aspects of their lives. This area of learning is about their emotional well-being, the respect they show others, their social competence and creating a positive disposition to learn.  It gives them the best opportunity for success in all other areas of learning.

Our teachers and nursery nurses provide the experiences and support to enable children to develop positive self-esteem. Activities promote the emotional, moral, spiritual and social development of your children alongside their intellectual development.

There is time and space for children to focus on activities and experiences and develop their own interests. Activities such as circle time, where they can feel secure about sharing their feelings and emotions and learn to respect themselves and others, are encouraged. We provide positive images in the form of books, displays and resources that challenge children's thinking and help them to embrace differences in gender, ethnicity, religion and disabilities.

Children develop in a secure and supportive environment and are confident, happy and considerate.
