IT

22nd May 2013

Information technology is an exciting and integral part of life at Clifton High. Children are introduced to the myriad of possibilities that IT has to offer and their aptitude and enthusiasm for IT are nurtured, valued and developed.

Lessons promote a positive attitude to IT as an interesting and creative subject and the children develop their ability to apply their IT capability to support their use of language and communication and their learning in other areas.

IT is taught in a cross-curricular manner in Key Stage 1. Children regulary use their IT suite to produce work such as graphic design, poetry, story writing and putting data into different formats. Children have access to interactive whiteboards and there is an IT club every week. Children learn how to log on, manipulate a mouse, design drawings and learn how to use a keyboard. Their vocabulary becomes rich with technical IT related words.
