Underpinning all we do at Clifton High School is the care with which we guide and encourage our pupils.
Each form in Years 7-11 has two members of staff allocated to it as form teachers. Class sizes are small, so tutors know each pupil in their group well. Work and personal issues can be talked through with a sympathetic adult who is always willing to find extra time to talk privately with an individual. The Head of Year and Sixth Form peer supporters provide more help and guidance.
Sixth Form students have an individual tutor, with whom they will meet to discuss their work and plans for university. The emphasis is on bridging the gap between school and university - enabling pupils to mature into students who are able and willing to take responsibility for their own learning. Sixth Form students have a great deal of freedom and learn to balance that with responsibility for themselves and for leadership within the school community.
A Pupil Council ensures that the pupils know their views and concerns are important and heeded by the School.
