We were delighted with the results of the most recent ISI inspection of Clifton High School and have pleasure in making this available to you on our website. We were one of the first independent schools nationally to undergo a new style of inspection, which consisted of an initial two-day inspection of regulatory requirements followed by a three-day final inspection of the school's broader educational provision.
The school has undergone a period of dramatic change over recent years and the inspectors were impressed by all that we had undertaken and achieved in such a short space of time. We have an overwhelming number of areas for celebration with inspectors finding that, "The school achieves its aims to bring out the best in each pupil in a friendly, happy and lively atmosphere. It is very successful in providing opportunities for pupils to develop their talents and personalities and acquire confidence."
Our parents and pupils completed questionnaires and the level of support they demonstrated towards the school was exceptionally high. The personal, spiritual and social development of our pupils was found to be most impressive, thanks in no small part to the supportive pastoral care systems, fully upheld by the excellent PSHE programme. Our pupils' excellent attitude to learning is a key feature, together with the strength of teaching and good teaching practice: "pupils' achievements in all areas of school life are supported by their excellent attitudes to learning, their extremely good behaviour and the excellent relationships they have with each other and with staff."
It was our stated aim ‘to inspire excitement for learning and to produce pupils who have strong values, social awareness and a respect for others, and who are motivated to achieve excellence in all aspects of their lives' The inspection report states that ‘the aims of the school are successfully met'.
