Department for Education performance tables

GCSE results day

Head of Clifton High School, Dr Alison Neill, was called by a radio station last week following the publication by the Department for Education of the School’s GCSE results - the performance table showed how our results have improved markedly over the last few years: in 2015, 94% of pupils at the School achieved five or more A* - C grades at GCSE. This is compared with 80% in 2012, 89% in 2013 and 88% in 2014.

The performance tables also showed that our A Level results last summer compared favourably with seven other well-known independent schools in Bristol. We scored in the top three for: average point score per A level student shown as a grade, and for the percentage of students achieving at least three A levels at A* – E .
