Enhanced Learning

At Clifton High we aim to realise the individual brilliance of all our boys and girls. We recognise and foster individual talents or gifts and provide support to those who may have additional learning needs.

Our Enhanced Learning Department provides one to one and small group lessons and is set up to:

  • Provide support for those pupils with additional learning needs such as dyslexia, dyspraxia or dyscalculia.

  • Co-ordinate activities and seek out opportunities for those pupils identified with a particular gift, talent or interest. A rich variety of activities are made available for those pupils whose interests and ability lead them beyond the curriculum.

  • Provide additional teaching for those pupils for whom English is not their principal language. The Enhanced Learning Department is led by the Head of Enhanced Learning and has three specialist teachers, a co-ordinator for English as an Additional Language teaching and learning and an English as an Additional Language Tutor.
