As part of Clifton High’s sponsorship of the upcoming Exhibition; Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing, at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery from February to May 2019; three Year 13 art students were fortunate enough to be invited to visit the Royal Collection before its release to the public at Windsor Castle last week.
The private tour through the Royal Collections Prints and Drawings room, by the Head of the Collection; Michael Clayton, not only included a closer look and detailed explanation of Leonardo’s works that will make up the forthcoming exhibition, but an opportunity to see Michelangelo’s, Raphael’s, Hans Holbein’s and Canaletto’s too.
The three students; Jiyu, Scarlet and Maiwenn were very inspired by this unique and privileged visit, and will now create their own pieces using the same tools, materials and techniques that Leonardo did 500 years ago.
Whilst they were there, they were also lucky enough to visit the State Apartments and see the recent wedding outfits of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!
