Year 11 GCSE English Literature pupils visited Stratford-upon-Avon last week to watch a performance of David Edgar’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol.
The excellent performance strengthened the pupils’ knowledge and understanding of the novella, which they are currently studying as part of their GCSE English Literature course. The pupils particularly enjoyed the depiction of Ebenezer Scrooge!
“I found the performance incredible; the plot was so accurate to the book and the atmosphere was breath-taking.”
“The play was an interesting interpretation of the novella. I liked the way it was narrated by the character playing the role of Charles Dickens.”
