Olivia in Year 7 had an extremely successful sporting weekend as she was selected to represent Great Britain in the European Biathle Championships in Germany this summer.
At an event held in Cheltenham on Saturday, Olivia competed against 44 other girls in the Under 13’s category. In the final heat, Olivia achieved a time of 4.02 minutes and came 4th place. Pentathlon GB select the top five fastest individuals and take a 6th reserve.
Olivia will spend a week in Weiden training before the event, which is an open water swim. A Biathle is a continuous run-swim-run ‘timed’ competition and differs from the Biathlon which is a separate run and swim event, with the times combined to achieve an overall ‘points-based’ result.
Olivia also received confirmation from the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) that she has obtained eight regional qualifying times and will compete in the Regional (South West) ASA Championships. Olivia is also competing in the Southwest Triathlon Series this year and is working hard on her running.
Congratulations to Olivia for such outstanding achievements and we wish her the best of luck in the Championships this summer!
