Clifton High School staff, along with four sixth form student helpers, went to St Michael's on the Mount Primary School on Wednesday to deliver an English ‘Shakespeare Alive!’ Masterclass.
Year 6 pupils learnt some fascinating details about Shakespeare's life and times, completing quizzes and role-play activities to visualise the impact Shakespeare would have made on London life. The second activity saw the pupils acting out some key lines from The Tempest, Macbeth and Twelfth Night - with everyone making excellent use of props and spooky cauldrons!
The high-energy Masterclass certainly brought Shakespeare to life and pupils really enjoyed the activities and in particular, the chance to perform to their peers and class teachers.
"I loved the quizzes - I never knew that only boys performed back in those days!"
"The teachers and sixth formers were nice, patient, kind and fun. I really enjoyed the day!"
"The Drama acting was definitely the best bit for me." - St Michael’s on the Mount pupil comments
