Year 3 and Year 5 enjoyed exciting, interactive history workshops
yesterday. "The History Man" visited school to deliver a workshop on the
Romans to Year 3 and workshop on the Greeks to Year 5. He brought
examples of armour along with him to explain how it was used in battle
and taught the boys and girls about different battle formations, amongst
other things.
The children learnt lots of interesting facts about the Romans and
the Greeks - about Roman invasion, about daily life in the classical
Greek city-states and they even got to dress-up in armour and drill to
commands! The workshops really helped to bring the children's classroom
studies alive, allowing them to understand their current topics much
more fully.
