Last week, four Year 8 Chemistry pupils attended the Salters’ Chemistry Festival at Bristol University. During the day, they participated in various activities and challenges that tested their aptitude and knowledge in Chemistry.
The fortunate four were able to witness some scientific demonstrations; listen to an in-depth talk, on carbon dating and isotopic analysis, from one of the University’s leading experts; tour the University; and discover the further education options offered there, in relation to Chemistry.
At the end of the day, the Salters’ Challenge prize-giving ceremony took place and the Clifton High team successfully took first prize, achieving a competition first with 100% of the vote. Our pupils’ impressive team work was commended by the supervisors and this, combined with their intelligent approach, earned them their deserved first place and prizes on the day. An impressive and inspirational day was enjoyed by them all.
Congratulations to Greer, Ted, Jackson and Rebecca in Year 8 on their outstanding success.
