Clifton High School staff were delighted to welcome pupils on the drive on Wednesday morning, for the start of the new academic year. There were many new starters and a lot of familiar faces who were eager to begin. In the first assembly of the year, Dr Alison Neill, Head of School, warmly welcomed all of the pupils, before going on to celebrate some of the successes of recent months. As well as sharing the news of an excellent set of examination results with the younger years, Year 9 students who had participated in their World Challenge Expedition to Romania over the summer were congratulated, along with a large number of musical examination certificates being awarded right across the School. There was also an opportunity to look ahead to the opportunities both within and outside of the classroom, available to pupils this coming year.
The first day of term is of course an important and memorable day for many families; with some children joining School for the very first time and others taking a pivotal step in the next stage of their education.
Earlier this week, Year 7 pupils joined staff for an induction day, to ensure a smooth transition into the Senior School, whilst Sixth Form students enjoyed a productive induction session with new Head of Sixth Form, Mr Sam Adams and Assistant Head: Sixth Form Miss Charlotte Allen.
Having caught up with friends and familiarised themselves with their timetable and tutors, pupils are ready for an exciting, busy and successful year at Clifton High.
