Toby Olubi; Olympic Bobsledder visits Clifton High

Last week Clifton High School had a very special visitor, Toby Olubi, the professional bobsledder who has competed in the Olympics for Team GB and set many world records in various competitions around the globe.  Toby ran bespoke bobsleigh training sessions, answered pupils questions, and addressed the Junior and Senior School in a special Assembly.

His personal tale of his road to success, including battling and recovering from serious injuries, the tough reality of finding funding, and personal sacrifices made to achieve his dreams was both humbling and inspirational.

He generously offered the pupils his advice and insight as well as emphasising how their school days offered them the golden opportunity not just to gain an education but to develop a work ethic that would serve them well whatever their passions or ambitions were for the future.

Clifton High School greatly thanks Toby for his visit, which was motivating and interesting for all the pupils.
