Year 10 English Theatre Visit

Year 10 pupils had the opportunity to visit the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham last Thursday to watch a performance of Willy Russell's renowned musical, Blood Brothers, which is a set text for their GCSE English Literature course.

The performance was engaging and extremely powerful for a relatively small regional theatre and the musical score was excellent, evoking a clear sense of the money-hungry 1980s.

The callous narrator developed an increasingly ominous tone as the play progressed and the fated characters of Mickey and Eddie grew up visually from seven-year-old boys to troubled adults in the second Act. All pupils were moved by the evocative plot and thoroughly enjoyed the compelling performance.
