Last Wednesday, eight Year 10 and 11 pupils attended the West of England Area Final for Young Enterprise competing against eight other local schools with their business venture, The Daily Grind.
In preparation for the event, pupils had to set up a stall to showcase their business and products which included a rustic copper pipe coffee filter and bamboo ‘Ecoffee’ cups. Pupils also had to write up a ten-page interim company report detailing their business ideas, journey and successes in addition to presenting their business concept to a room of 200 people!
Five business people from around the Bristol area judged all the school groups and Bath College International Business pupils managed to secure the one place available in the Regional Final, with their business ‘Vintage Times’. Clifton High pupils have worked extremely hard over the last seven months and have demonstrated excellent calm under pressure, confidence and entrepreneurship throughout.
At assembly on Monday, it was also announced that Mr Harkin, who has taught and supervised the Young Enterprise Team, won the Central Lead Teacher Award at the Young Enterprise West of England Area Final - an excellent achievement!
