Congratulations to the Year 13 students who took part in the French and Spanish debates at Badminton School last Wednesday - Clifton High is very pleased that the Spanish team won against Clifton College!
The winning team included Isabella and Raphael who both gave an amazing performance on a debate on the theme of benefits of immigration for the host country. The students defended their ideas with assertiveness and gave convincing arguments which impressed fellow students and judges alike.
Isabella and Fiona then participated in the lively French debate on the topic of immigration, a challenging argument which enabled both students to battle their wits against insightful questions from the opposing team and test their skills of articulation. Both Isabella and Fiona received high praise from the Head of Languages at Badminton School.
A special mention goes to Amy, who unfortunately could not join the Spanish team for the debate, but whose hard work in the preparation stages definitely contributed to the victory. Also to Isabella who transferred her skills from debating in Spanish to French after a mere 5 minute interval!
