Year 2 'Field to Fork' Visit to Tyntesfield

The Year 2 children enjoyed a ‘Field-to-Fork’ experience last week at Tyntesfield as part of their topic ‘Fighting Fit’. The incessant heavy rain did not dampen their spirits for their morning tour around the beautiful walled kitchen gardens where they learnt about the vegetables and herbs grown at Tyntesfield and had the opportunity to plant rainbow chard seeds to take home.

In the afternoon, they followed a Victorian recipe to make a pancake sauce and had the opportunity to ask the chef at Tyntesfield some questions about her role. Several of the Year 2 children have now decided they would like to be chefs too!
