Year 2 Forest School

Year 2 worked very hard planting trees at their recent Forest School session. After learning that laurel trees had become very invasive in a particular part of Leigh Woods, the children planted young willow and hazel trees in recently cleared areas. These native trees will attract more wildlife, such as dormice, back in to the woodland. A cup of hot chocolate, made with water heated from the burning of cleared stinging nettles, was a welcome treat after all the digging!
