Following the excellent entries in the Junior House Bake-Off first heat, the 15 winners in Years 3-6 took part in the grand final on Wednesday, baking a ‘showstopper’ cake with the theme ‘Clifton High School’.
With just an hour and a half on the clock, the children had to work efficiently to make, bake and present their showstopper cakes - the pressure was on! In true Clifton High spirit, everyone rose to the challenge and demonstrated a dedicated and focused attitude throughout the competition.
The standard of the finished cakes was outstanding and the final bakes were judged on presentation, taste and design by Mrs Tabb, Ms Bagnall, Miss Coggins, Dr Pascoe and Mr Fletcher. Ranging from an eco-cake and lemon curd cake to a full Clifton High School Swimming Pool cake, all of the bakes highlighted the high level of baking skills of the 15 contestants. Well done to all participants!
