Last Monday, Year 3 pupils visited Bristol Zoo where they participated in special workshops led by animal experts and keepers. They learnt about animals’ teeth and eating habits, food-chains, and big cats.
Walking around the Zoo, they applied this new knowledge to enhance their understanding about the different animals they saw. The lions were their firm favourites.
The children were also able to interact with artefacts and had the opportunity to touch a cockroach, a rat and a snake!
It was a wonderful day and the children learnt a lot of new facts, many of which will help them with their classroom theme work, Big Cats and with their science topic, Teeth.
