On Wednesday, as part of the Library's Visiting Authors Programme, children’s author, Ms M.G. Leonard, delivered an engaging talk to pupils in Years 5-8.
Ms Leonard’s trilogy, Battle of the Beetles, is an international bestseller and she spoke to pupils about undertaking research, being creative and conquering your fears, with a strong conservation message in support of beetles. The informative talk even included a demonstration of the ‘Heebie Jeebie Dance’!
All pupils gained lots of useful information about the creative writing process and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Ms Leonard also held a book signing after school for pupils who purchased a copy of one of her books.
Pupils and staff were unanimous in their praise of the event:
“The pupils loved it! Ms Leonard was inspiring and so energetic.”
“I learnt so much - a brilliant talk!”
