Year 6 Work With Ape Alliance

Year 6 have been collaborating with Ape Alliance, a group working for the conservation and welfare of apes; the children have been learning about the effect that deforestation, caused by the high demand for palm oil, has on orang-utans.

It was wonderful to see the pupils’ awareness and enthusiasm in tackling the issue, with many of them already consciously taking action by not buying products containing palm oil.

The knowledgeable team from Ape Alliance provided the children with a fuller understanding of the problem and gave them many new ideas to help in the fight against the use of palm oil; this inspired them to create a collage of posters promoting awareness and highlighting the concerns.
