Year 9 Latin Visit

Year 9 Latin pupils had an informative day at the Roman Baths on Wednesday, to learn more about the Romans and their influence in Britain.

On arrival, the pupils took a self-guided tour around the baths, learning about life in the Roman Empire and the development of the site at Aquae Sulis. Following this, pupils put their Latin skills to the test, interpreting the inscriptions on Roman tombstones and were lucky enough to handle real Roman artefacts!

The visit really helped to place the pupils’ learning of the Latin language in context and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
