Nursery - Junior Schools Entrance Procedures

Nursery School:

Entry to our Nursery School is selective. It is expected that children will be able to access the full Early Years Curriculum.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2:

Entry into Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 is determined via an informal assessment conducted by a class teacher from the relevant year group. It is expected that pupils will be capable of accessing the full curriculum and be sufficiently able to gain entry into our Junior School in due course.

Pupils should also be capable of progressing towards gaining entry into the Senior School.

Junior School:

Entry into Years 3 to 6 is dependent upon:

  • a report from Reception to Year 2 Department for internal candidates
  • a report from the Head of their current school for external candidates
  • a formal assessment of the candidates standard in English, mathematics and reading

We anticipate that pupils joining Years 3 to 6 will be capable of progressing towards gaining entry into the Senior School.
